Second, the system needs to be built from bottom to top based on an optimized architecture to meet the requirements of digital product value chain. Manufacturers can effectively optimize their product development process through it, because only functional scope is not enough. The architecture must be integrated, that is, only one data model, a set of business logic and a user interface are adopted; Purely interconnected, which can be seamlessly deployed to the existing enterprise intranet and interconnection infrastructure, so as to meet the needs of distributed value chain; Interoperable, you can easily integrate with other systems using standard protocols and integration schemes

however, PLM is not a simple "system integration" - for example, the last PDM, two CAD, another digital assembly, coupled with the connection of an ERP or SCM system, supplemented by web technology, is the "PLM" system - this only realizes the accumulation and inheritance of a technology, only completes the functions of task and process automation, and does not reflect the real idea and connotation of PLM. Although the above technologies are needed, they are not sufficient for the implementation of PLM strategy. First of all, PLM needs to be understood completely because of its complex mission architecture. The selection and implementation of PLM technology must be done in this way: it is composed of building a life-cycle wealth management system for a wider business mission; The adoption of technology must be selected according to the principle of this high-level mission, rather than the traditional historical mission of completing tasks and process automation.
